Cantrell returns from Colorado visit

Cedar Rapids (Iowa) Washington linebacker Maurice Cantrell took his first official visit of the year over the weekend.
“I did take an official visit to Colorado,” the 6-foot-1, 220-pound Cantrell said. “I had a really good time.

“I got to talk to the academic people and visit about classes for my major. They showed me around the campus and the academic centers. It was a good time.”
The visit has pushed the Buffaloes to the top of the two-star rated linebacker’s list.
“Colorado is at the top of the list,” he said. “Iowa State is right there behind them. Then I would say Iowa, Purdue and Nebraska are on the list. I have scholarship offers from Colorado and Iowa State and I think Iowa is close to offering.”
With one visit in the books, Cantrell is not set to go anywhere else, at this point.
“I don’t have any other visits set yet,” he said. “I’m looking at some dates with Iowa State to go there officially. But, right now nothing is set. I’m hoping to get a decision made in December.”
