Canes still lead for Junior All-American

Rivals.com Junior All-American defensive tackle Marcus Forston from Miami (Fla.) Northwestern continues to see the scholarship offers roll in, but one local favorite remains out in front in the race for his services.
"As far as new offers go, I got UCF, North Carolina and Auburn," Forston said. "I have some interest in those schools."

Previously, Miami (Fla.), Florida State, Georgia, Florida, Rutgers, Ole Miss and Tennessee had stepped forward with an offer for the 6-foot-2, 286-pounder with tremendous quickness and athleticism (he notched a 4.63-second pro shuttle at the Miami NIKE Camp as a rising junior).
Even with the new offers and some headlining previous ones, Forston says the home team remains the team to beat.
"I am still favoring Miami," he said. "Every year they send a lot of defensive lineman to the NFL. I also like the type of defense they run because here at Northwestern High, we run a similar defense."
Miami defensive line coach Clint Hurtt is Forston's recruiter of record.
"He's a great coach," Forston said. "Hurtt is the type of coach that likes to have fun but at the same time he gets down to business."
Forston, who previously attended a Junior Day event at the University of Florida, says he probably will wait until the summer to make any further unofficial visits. Though, he does have one destination in mind.
"Miami has a passing camp coming up and I am going to go there," he said. "I am going to play a little tight end."
Forston says he plans to announce his final decision next Signing Day.
