Canes enter Benn race

Washington (D.C.) Dunbar wide receiver Arrelious Benn is heading to Florida State Thursday for a two-day unofficial visit. The nation's No. 2 wideout is looking for many things on his visit and his trip could allow Miami to be a serious player in this recruiting race.
"I'm flying down Thursday and returning Friday night and I want to see as much as I can of FSU," said the 6-foot-2, 210-pounder. "I'm looking at the offense and the quarterbacks and want to see how I fit in with the coaches and players. Drew Weatherford is a guy I want to see and Xavier Lee. It's important to me that a good young quarterback is wherever I go."

Benn hasn't set up any official visits yet, but a new team has emerged.
"I might take an official visit to Miami," he said. "If my FSU visit goes well and I get to see everything I need to see, I might take an official to Miami instead. Actually I'll probably take an official to Miami regardless."
Benn is being recruited by Marquis Mosely for Miami.
"He's a good guy and I've always been a big Miami fan since I was young," he said. "They always put receivers in the league and like bigger guys."
Benn also lists Notre Dame, Illinois and Maryland. However, he no longer lists a leader.
"Everyone is even," he said. "I'll take an official to Illinois and Notre Dame, but I have to figure out my schedule and see what games I can go to. I still plan on deciding in late October."
