Canada getting close on decision

Monrovia (Calif.) athlete Jesse Canada has taken three official visits so far and has a good idea where he’ll play his college ball next season.
Canada, 6-0, 180 pounds visited Washington State over Halloween and took visits to Oregon and Cal earlier this month.

“I’m going to visit Oregon State next weekend but I think I have a good idea where I’ll be playing,” Canada said. “The visit to Oregon was by far my best trip, I had a lot of fun there. It was my first time to Oregon so I think that was a big reason why I liked it so much. The facilities are great and the coaches are very cool too. In fact, Don Pellum (Oregon LB coach) is over at the house right now.
“With Cal, I had taken a couple of unofficial trips before so I already know the program pretty well. That’s probably why I wasn’t as blown away with Cal, not because it’s not a great school, just because I know everything there already. The trip to Oregon really moved them up my list but it’s still going to be tough to beat out Cal, they’re my top school and I’m leaning pretty heavily there right now.
“Like I said, I’m still going to visit Oregon State next weekend, I feel I owe them that much because they have recruited hard from the beginning and were one of the first schools to offer. I thought a little about committing but I wanted to take my visit to Oregon State first. After that visit, I think I’ll have seen enough to make my decision but it’s going to be very tough to beat out Cal right now.”
