Can Wildcats keep FB at home

When you talk about the bumper crop in the Sunflower State for the Class of 2004, one player that has come out of nowhere to earn scholarship offers from three Division I programs is Hays, Kan., two-star fullback/linebacker Brett Alstatt.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound Alstatt has offers from Indiana, Kansas State and Wyoming. However, for the past few weeks, his decision has been down to KSU and IU and the Hoosiers have a very good chance, just like the Wildcats

“They’re both really right up there,” Alstatt said. “Indiana is an up-and-coming program. Coach Dinardo has been at Vanderbilt and LSU and taken teams to bowl games at LSU. He’s going to do a good job of turning them around.
“And I never thought I would have an opportunity to get an offer from the Big 12 champions. When they first started to recruit me, I suspected they would offer, but it’s a big complement to have the Big 12 champions offer you.”
Alstatt was going to visit Kansas State next weekend, but because of a basketball tournament the visit has been pushed back to January 30. That’s when he’ll get a chance to see coach Joe Bob Clements again.
“He’s doing a really job of recruiting me,” Alstatt said. “He’s had first-hand experience of being a Kansas kid and turning into an All-American. I also really like talking to coach (Bill) Snyder. He’s great and such an intelligent man.”
