Can anyone catch the Bears

Arizona State is bringing in some talented kids this weekend on official visits to catch the Sun Devils take on Washington. No receiver in the state has been any better this year than Merced (Calif.) standout Jarrett Sparks and the athlete will be in Tempe to check things out.
Sparks, 6-2, 220 pounds is one of the biggest and most physical receivers in the region. We had a chance to see him take apart a pretty good Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw team earlier in the year and feel he has all the tools to project very well at the college level.
Merced is currently 5-0 and ranked No. 16 in the CalHiSport rankings. Sparks has been a big reason why and had another solid game last weekend scoring on a 65 yard reverse. In the game we saw with Crenshaw, Sparks scored on a 58 yard touchdown reception and a 79 yard kickoff return.

On the recruiting front, Sparks has made no secret about who his top school is and nothing has changed in recent weeks.
"It's still Cal, Cal is real high on my list," Sparks said. "It's a lot of things with them. I know so much about the program because I've visited the campus before and I've been going to their camps for a long time. I love that offense, I like the coaching staff and they're just a fun team to watch.
"I wasn't able to be there for the Tennessee game but I've tried to make it to as many home games as possible. It just feels right at Cal for me. When I'm there, I already feel like part of the team but I don't really know anything else so that's why I need to take my visits.
"I have nothing to compare Cal with so I'm going to go in to this with an open mind and see how the visits go. I'm going to Arizona State this weekend and I'm looking forward to it. I really don't know much about the program except I've watched them on T.V and I've been really impressed with what I've seen so far.
"I heard night games at ASU are pretty crazy and I've also heard they have some great facilities there so this should be fun. I'm also going to visit Oregon State but the date is still up in the air. I set it for (Nov. 10) but Cal is hosting USC that weekend and I really want to be there for that game. I'll also visit Cal later but I've been there a ton of times already so it's not a huge priority."
