Cams QB Competition: Top performers

Recruiting Wrap: Patterson is committed to Ole Miss.
Performance: Patterson was by far the most notable name in attendance and as
usual he impressed with his performance. Patterson even went toe-to-toe with
Newton at the deep ball target, and edged him by hitting it while Newton was off
target. Patterson didn't make the finals but, as usual, he was attacking the
stations at full speed rather than just making sure he put points on the board
by hitting targets.

QB
Zerrick Cooper
Jonesboro, Ga.
Recruiting Wrap: Cooper is committed to Clemson.
Performance: Cooper declared himself 100 percent recently after suffering a
serious knee injury last offseason. While he's known for his ability to make
plays with his legs, Cooper's accuracy throwing the ball was impressive and
helped him earn a spot in the finals. As a member of Newton's 7-on-7 team, he
has had a chance to personally learn from the NFL quarterback, and the results
are starting to show.

QB
D'Eriq King
Manvel, Texas
Recruiting Wrap: King is committed to TCU.
Performance: A lot of schools want to move King to wide reliever and the
motivation to do so is obvious. King is just 5-foot-10 and isn't going to wow
anyone with his throwing motion. That said, he's also a capable FBS-level
quarterback. The ball jumps out of his hands and he's able to zip passes through
tight windows. Despite his limited size, he does not lack for arm strength. His
footwork is also impressive and he's solid in his drops. He's only limited by
his height and his sporadic lack of touch. He by no means a lost cause as a
passer and TCU should be able to develop him as such if it so chooses.

QB
Felix Harper
Fairburn (Ga.) Creekside
Recruiting Wrap: Harper has several offers, with Army as the current leader for
his services.
Performance: Harper is slight of build for an FBS quarterback, but it's hard to
argue with the 6-foot, 160-pounder's results when he's throwing the ball.
Harper puts nice zip on the ball and can also throw on the move and if he were a few
inches taller he would probably have a shot to play at a bigger program.
Regardless, Harper will play quarterback in college, most likely at the FBS
level.

QB
Bryan Gagg (2019)
Sarasota, Fla.
Recruiting Wrap: Gagg is waiting on his first offer
Performance: One of the youngest quarterbacks at the event, Gagg flashed some
impressive arm strength and delivered a wonderful deep pall with some
consistency. Gagg is already 6-foot-1 as an eighth grader and has some extremely
nice raw tools. His footwork and mechanics aren't polished, but it's hard to
expect them to be. He was impressive for the duration of Friday's event, and
there's no reason to believe he won't have a bright future as a college
prospect.
