Campos talks recent Purdue offer

West Des Moines Valley offensive tackle Jake Campos is emerging as one of the top prospects in the state of Iowa for the 2013 class. The 6-7, 245-pound prospect already holds offers from three BCS programs, receiving his most recent one from Purdue this past weekend.
"It just came out of the blue," Campos said. "They sent me a Facebook message one day asking to send in my highlight tape. I did that and the next day, the first time I ever talked to him, he offered a scholarship."

The offer from Purdue joined previous offers from Iowa and Iowa State. Being the first out-of-state school to extend an offer, Purdue is still a little unfamiliar to Campos.
"I didn't really know anything about Purdue," he said. "I knew they had a really good Engineering school, but the football program I didn't know much about.
"I really like their academic background. I'm thinking about [majoring in] engineering right now and my family knows two engineers that graduated from Purdue. I know it is a good school and I like it for that, I just have to look more into them."
Next up for Campos will be junior day visits. He is looking to attend both Iowa and Iowa State's junior days this winter, and will also be at Missouri's junior day on Feb. 11.
"I've been talking to Missouri a lot more recently - Josh Henson, the o-line coach," Campos said. "I really like Coach Henson… he's awesome."
