Campenni picks up first BCS offer

Until this week Julian Campenni was waiting for his first offer from a school in a BCS conference.
Now the wait it's over. That's not to say Campenni wasn't satisfied with his other offers -- all of whom were from mid-majors. It's just nice to have another option, especially when it's a school in a major conference.

"I have three new offers," Campenni said. "Buffalo, Bowling Green and Indiana have offered me. The Indiana offer came in on Monday."
The 6-foot, 260-pound defensive tackle was already sitting on an offer from Kent State and he maintains that he is interested in all of the schools that have offered.
How did the Hoosiers start to get involved with Campenni and what does he think about the Big Ten school?
"I met with coach (Brian) George from Indiana, their defensive line coach," he said. "I mean, I was kind of shocked to hear it. The Big Ten is big-time football.
"I'm going to go out to Indiana to visit the school sometime just to see how everything is. My first reaction is 'wow' just because of the caliber of football."
In spite of the offer from Indiana, Campenni still plans on visiting the other schools that have offered. He hopes to make it to Buffalo and Bowling Green at some point over the summer, though he doesn't have any of those dates set up yet.
He said he would keep his calendar clear for even more visits in case schools continue to offer scholarships.
