The 6-foot-6, 255-pound standout holds offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Oklahoma, Cal, Kentucky, Louisville, and Arkansas, and he has one visit on his mind right now.
"I'm trying to get to Oklahoma this weekend if I get my test scores back," Campbell said. "If not I plan to go up there when they play Oklahoma State. They're playing Baylor this weekend but if not I'll probably for sure be going to Oklahoma State."
A couple of others could also be in the works.
"I may take Cal and possibly Kentucky," Campbell said. "You know those schools that are far off."
Ole Miss and Mississippi State may not be far off, but they are not out of the running for official visits.
"I might but the one's I'm trying to do first are the ones that are far away from me that I'm really interested in," Campbell said. "If I have any left there's a possibility I could take one to one of those two schools."
Official visits to Ole Miss and Mississippi State may not be guaranteed right now, he could take an unofficial visit as soon as this weekend.
"I might," Campbell said. "Ole Miss is playing Presbyterian and Mississippi State is playing Tennessee-Martin. I might go to one of those games maybe."
As for a decision, he is not quite ready to narrow his list or make a decision. However, he has given a lot of thought to his college future.
"I think about it all the time and I can never come to a conclusion," Campbell said. "I talk to God and talk to my girlfriend all the time about it because I'm trying to get her to go to school with me wherever I go. One day it's just going to hit me and I'll know."
Campbell is currently ranked No. 23 among the nation's 2015 strongside defensive ends, and No. 6 in Rivals.com's Mississippi Preseason Top 25 for 2015.
