Campbell sees attention at several positions

Ponchatoula (La.) standout athlete Christian Campbell rushed for 1,784 yards and 16 touchdowns on 212 carries and threw for 810 yards and 8 touchdowns on his way to district offensive MVP honors and honorable mention all-state in 2013.
The strong junior season by the 6-foot-1, 190-pounder caught the attention of college coaches who are looking at him at quite a few different positions on offense and defense.

"It's kind of been depending on what school and what kind of offense," Campbell said. "The offenses with quarterback who run a little bit are recruiting me at quarterback, but as far as the SEC schools like Ole Miss, Alabama, and LSU, they've all been recruiting me as an athlete."
In the offseason, he has been working hard to at several positions.
"I'm just getting ready for the next season. I've been working really hard on my passing," Campbell said. "On the weekends I play on the Louisiana Bootleggers 7-on-7 team, and I play DB and slot receiver just for some reps because I don't get to take reps there at Ponchatoula."
He already holds offers from Louisiana Tech, Georgia Tech, Louisiana-Lafayette, and Southern Miss, and a few programs have shown more interest than others.
"Georgia Tech and ULL, they blow me up all the time and are always keeping in touch," Campbell said. "Mississippi State has been on me pretty good lately."
Two SEC programs have also let him know they are very interested in his abilities.
"Well, LSU and Alabama," Campbell said. "Pretty much what they've been telling me is we want you to come to the camp and show your skills."
Campbell attended LSU's Boys of the Boot recruiting event, and he plans to camp at Alabama and LSU this summer. He does not have any other visits scheduled at the moment, but will probably take more in the future.
