Campbell piling up more offers

Denver (Colo.) South defensive end Calais Campbell has picked up several new offers.
“Over the past few days I’ve gotten several official offers,” the 6-foot-7, 235-pound Campbell said. “Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Georgia Tech and Oregon have offered to go along with the Colorado State offer from earlier. Kansas State’s coach told me today they would be offering me.”

Campbell’s older brother Ciarre will be heading to Colorado State next fall.
“My brother is going to be at CSU, but I really am not favoring anyone at this point.”
One school missing from the list of schools extending scholarship offers to Campbell is nearby Colorado.
“CU hasn’t offered but they have been in touch with me a lot,” Campbell said. “They are right there. They’ve talked a little about offering, but they are limited this year. They only have something like 16 scholarships to give this year.”
Campbell has a few things he wants to find at the school he chooses.
“I want to play defensive end. I would like to play as a freshman. And I want to graduate.”
South High School has played host to several college coaches recently.
“BYU and Kansas State were there Tuesday. Colorado and Miami were there yesterday. Michigan State is coming on Wednesday and Oklahoma has talked about coming maybe late this week.”
Campbell’s camp schedule is far from finalized at this point.
“I’ll go to CSU’s camp and I know I would like to make it to Miami’s too. I hope to make it to a lot of different camps this summer so I can see as many places as possible.”
Campbell had hoped to have his decision before August was over, and the earlier the better.
“I would like to make a choice as soon as I can. I know I would like to have it over with before our fall starts up with school and games. That would take some of the pressure off.”
