Campbell eyes four

Yazoo City (Miss.) three-star defensive end Gabriel Campbell has not attended many camps this summer, but Friday night he was in Starkville, Miss., for Mississippi State's Big Dawg camp.
It is safe to say he enjoyed his time with coach Mullen and the Bulldog staff.

"It was nice. The only bad thing about it was my cleats were too small," Campbell said. "They hurt my toes and they had to find me another pair of cleats. But I did pretty well. I haven't been to a camp since June 1 and that was Alabama. But I did pretty well, better than I thought I would. It was nice, I had fun, a lot of fun."
Campbell does not have any other visits scheduled at this time, but he does plan to take his official visits.
"In the fall for sure," Campbell said. "I'll probably take officials to Oklahoma and Cal. Yeah I'll probably take officials to those."
He also has a few schools on his current short list.
"I've narrowed it down to Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Oklahoma. It's not in that ordered but I've narrowed it down to those schools," Campbell said. "They just seem like the best schools for me. And I have schools like Cal and Louisville. I don't know where I'm going to go. I say that now but I don't know where I'm going to go."
As for a decision, he is not currently in a big hurry to make his announcement.
"After the season, "Campbell said. "Definitely after the season. Sometime after the season."
While Campbell does not have any plans to make his decision until after the season, he was aware of the buzz generated by the Bulldogs picking up eight new commitments on Friday.
"Yeah there sure was," Campbell said. "I just said more power to them."
Campbell is currently ranked No. 22 among the nation's strongside defensive ends and is No. 6 in the Rivals.com Mississippi Preseason Top 25.
