Campbell cuts his list

Last we heard from Forestville, Md. tight end Devonte Campbell, he was closing in on cutting his list of favorites. The 6-foot-1, 234-pounder has since announced seven schools that are definitely in the mix for his services.
"I wouldn't say there are any leaders amongst them, but I'm looking at Maryland, Penn State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Pittsburgh, Syracuse and Illinois," he said. "As it stands right now those seven are pretty solid, although there may be one or two other schools added to the list.

"I picked these schools because they all offer one of three main qualities I'm looking for," he stated. "I really am focusing on my chances of playing, distance from home and educational program in particular my major, engineering. Every one of these schools at least fits one of those categories."
Though the Rivals250 prospect hasn't set up official visits yet, he has thought about them.
"I'm planning to take three of them in December and then two in January," he said. "I haven't really thought about whom I'll go to because I want to visit them all. As for a decision, that'll be very close to Signing Day."
While recruiting is keeping Campbell busy, football continues to be his primary focus.
"Our first game is on September 8th and I think our team has tremendous talent this year. Hopefully we can put it to good use and go to state," he said. "I've played in two scrimmages so far and had four touchdowns. Our team is dominating offensively particularly in the passing game. I thought I've done well, but I can continue to get better and I'm never satisfied."
