Cameron Williams has become a name to know in the midwest

O'FALLON, Ill. — It started in April for Cameron Williams. An offer from Iowa State came, then a couple of schools in the ACC followed with offers of their own. The 2019 linebacker out of Merrillville (Ind.) Andrean has emerged as a top underclassman in the midwest and he will be one to track moving forward.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: "I have offers from North Carolina, Syracuse and Iowa State," said Williams. "All three have come here recently. Iowa State offered me first and it was around a month ago. Out of those three, Syracuse has been out to the school to check on me."

A LOT TO LEARN: "I have talked on Twitter with Iowa State and I have heard good things about their coach, but I do not know much about them, North Carolina or Syracuse yet. All I know about North Carolina is their colors and about their basketball history and on Syracuse, I know they are the Orange. I will have to learn more."

SOONER THAN EXPECTED: "I am very surprised by the offers. I did not think I would be noticed this soon. I thought it may happen during the season, but it happened earlier. I have three offers already and I am hearing from Minnesota, Central Michigan and Alabama. I think there are a few others interested in me too."

THANKFUL FOR OPPORTUNITY: "I went crazy as soon as I found out about my first offer. I was so surprised and it was exciting for me. It is really all God though. I am blessed to have these offers and I thank God for the opportunity. I am going to take full advantage of it."

RIVALS REACTION: It is just the beginning for Williams. He is an athletic linebacker who can run as more schools see him, he will add more offers. He does not know much about the schools that have offered him yet, so he is wide open. He grew up a fan of Ohio State and he would love to have an offer from the Buckeyes. It is too early to say who the favorite is to land Williams as his recruitment is just taking off.
