Cameron White: "I'm Ole Miss bound all the way down"

SENATOBIA, Miss.Cameron White made a big hit when Rivals.com was in attendance recently and he quickly put his hand up to his forehead making the fin like he already a Landshark on the Ole Miss defense.

He will be soon.

The three-star safety at Northwest Community College is taking care of business now in preparation of arriving in Oxford come January. He has been committed to Matt Luke and the Rebels for some time, and there has been no wavering.

"Ole Miss is family for me," said White. "They have always been family. Even to now, when sometimes I feel like so many people have forgotten about me, Ole Miss still lets me know they are here and that they see me.

"They make me feel special. I love the people there, I love the atmosphere and it one big family to me. I am Ole Miss bound all the way down."

White is an impressive athlete at 6-feet, 2-inches tall and 185 pounds. He feels his versatility is what will help him get on the field quickly at Ole Miss.

"I can play anything — cornerback, safety or nickel, and the Ole Miss coaches have a plan for me. They like how I can move around and they feel like I fit best in their defense at safety.

"They expect me to come in, help the secondary and I think me being able to help in a lot of ways will help me play right away."

Oxford is like a second home to White. He has visited too many times to count over the years and he is already feels like part of the team. He looks forward to helping the team improve when he arrives.

"I don't miss a game," said White. "Losing to a team like Memphis or anyone else means nothing to me. We are a young team. We are building. There may be some letdowns, but we are going to build something strong for coach Luke and keep going hard in Oxford.

"It is very hard not to look ahead and not to think all about when I get to Ole Miss, but I do want to finish strong at Northwest first. I think about it a lot though.

"I try to put that aside though because I want to focus on my time at Northwest, get the work done here first and then go in ready make an impact at Ole Miss in January."
