Calls continue for Houston athlete

Houston (Texas) Westside athlete R.J. Jackson continues to take everything in stride as he prepares for week three of the 2004 season.
“Everything is still the same,” the 6-foot, 197-pound Jackson said. “I get a lot of phone calls. Nothing new, just the same schools. I get consistent calls from the ones I am considering.”

Jackson’s list has not changed and includes Georgia, Florida, LSU, Texas, Oklahoma State and Houston.
“I don’t have one that is a favorite. I don’t want to eliminate anyone at this point. I want to keep all of my options open that I can. I’ll make my visits after the season is over and try and find the best place for me.”
Jackson has seen some limited duty this season at running back.
I didn’t get much on the ground in our first game,” the four-star rated Jackson said. “They were keying on me and kept me pretty bottled up. In the second game I only played the first half. I had two scores and a 65 yard run. We got up enough that coach took me out.”
Jackson and his Westside teammates will play Conroe this week and see another talented running back on the other side of the ball in Desmon Chatman.
