Callinan closing in on offers

Class of 2013 wide receiver Charles Callinan already has a verbal offer from Rutgers and he could be closing in on other offers.
While Callinan hasn't had a lot of contact with college coaches himself, his coach at Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep has handled a lot of those duties for him and has relayed some information back to him.

So far UConn, Boston College, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, Miami, Florida, Alabama and Oregon are among the schools that have expressed some form of interest, either to Callinan's coach or through mail.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver should be visiting some of those schools this fall.
"Other than my schedule and football here I'm going to try to make it out to as many college games as I can," Callinan said on Saturday.
"I'm going to go to some local and northeast schools. I'd like to go to Rutgers, UConn, BC, Virginia and schools like that if I can."
While Callinan doesn't know for sure he believes a few schools might even be close to offering.
"I think West Virginia is pretty interested and so is North Carolina and Boston College," he noted. "Those are the three that have probably shown the most interest."
Callinan is one of the top big receiving targets in the Northeast from the Class of 2013 and has been clocked at 4.55 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
