Charles Callinan is a Class of 2013 wide receiver with an offer from Rutgers and more could be on the way.
The 6-foot-4, 200-pound receiver from Jersey City (N.J.) St. Peter's Prep has had a strong season so far.
Callinan estimates he has hauled in around 21 receptions for 370 yards and three touchdowns on the year as one of the top big targets in the Garden State.
Because so many of his games have been on Saturdays it has been difficult to get out to colleges, other than Rutgers. That's changing soon.
"Now that some games coming up are on Fridays I'm looking to make it out to two schools," Callinan said.
"On (October) 29 I'm going to Notre Dame for their game against Navy and on (November) 5 I'm probably going to make it out to Michigan State for their game against Minnesota."
Rutgers is the only school that has offered but the Spartans could be close, according to Callinan.
"I've been talking to Michigan State a lot and I just sent my film to them. They were excited to hear from me and pretty much they just liked what they saw. They're probably the closest to offering but I don't want to jump to any conclusions."
In addition to the schools that have offered Callinan has received interest from Notre Dame, West Virginia, Wisconsin and Iowa.
