California WR gets good news

Los Angeles Manual Arts receiver James Finley received about as good of news that he could get last week.
“I sat down with my counselor and crunched some numbers,” Finley, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound four-star receiver, said.

“We found out that I’m sitting officially at 2.35 grade-point average. That’s close enough for me to get at least a 2.7 or something when I’m finished next semester. I told the college coaches that news, the offers started to flow in.”
And now he officially has offers from USC, Washington State, Oregon State and Fresno State. He’s also lined up visits to Washington State on Nov. 2 and Oregon State on Nov. 30 and would also like to visit Oklahoma and Michigan.
“Oklahoma is a great program that can always use a few more receivers like me,” Finley said. “Michigan wants me to come up for a visit, and I probably won’t visit USC since it’s so close to home.”
And that point is something that might put the Trojans in the driver’s seat.
“I like USC a lot,” he said. “I go to school only four blocks from the school. All of the teachers ask me every day when I’m going to sign with USC. So, it’s really tempting to stay home and play for them, but I’m not ready to make that decision quite yet.”
