California top 100 player has leader

One of the top 100 players in the state of California is playing exactly like you would expect from an elite player. Problem is, he’s can’t win games all by himself. But still, Los Angeles Cathedral safety Rodney Cox Jr. is working hard to help his team stay on the winning track.
“We lost our first game on Friday,” Cox, who is 6-foot-1 and 193 pounds, said. “We’re 3-1 right now. I did play pretty good. I had one touchdown reception for 45 yards, had seven carries for 75 yards, six tackles and blocked a field goal. But one person couldn’t do it all.”

Cox, however, said a game like that hopefully will open up the eyes of the college recruiters. He’s still be getting regular calls from Oregon, Arizona, UCLA, Washington and Montana, but with a breakout game like the one on Friday, expect the tape to be hitting the mail box soon.
“Oregon is No. 1 right now,” he said. “I love their defense. I’m going to get that tape in the mail to the schools, especially Oregon, right away. I don’t want to miss an opportunity.”
Cox, is ranked as the No. 97 player in the Golden State and is a two-star prospect according to Rivals.com.
