California QB picks in Big 12 region

California quarterback Jordan Palmer will be playing his football way down low in the state of Texas.
"He committed to UTEP," Jordan Palmer's mother said. "It was a perfect fit for him there and he is very excited about it. It is the right place and that is how he feels about it."

His mother said that he will have a chance to start early at Texas-ElPaso.
Jordan did have offers from Boise State and Kansas too, but the changes in the coaching staffs at those two schools "changed it at the last."
"Cal wanted him to visit after he committed to UTEP," his mother said. They were not going to consider that at this late date.
The 6-foot-5, 210 pound quarterback, who is the younger brother of star quarterback, Carson Palmer at USC, lead his Mission Viejo, California high school team to the California CIF State Championship with a perfect 14-0 record.
He will be attending Texas-ElPaso with his high school teammate and buddy, Joe Fleskosky.
