California QB likes UNLV coach

San Jose (Calif.) Valley Christian two-star quarterback Dontae Perez ended his regular season in style. The 5-foot-11, 180-pounder said he helped his team to a 20-7 victory over St. Francis this past Friday night.
"It was a good victory," Perez said. "I threw two touchdowns. I think I've thrown for 12 for the year."

The victory allowed Valley Christian to capture the league championship and now they have a bye week this week before the playoffs start next weekend.
"We're not sure who we're going to have yet," Perez said. "They'll have to see what happens this week before we know. Then they'll have a meeting and all that stuff gets figured out."
Perez said his main focus is now the playoffs, but when he's not thinking about that, he's thinking about recruiting. He is getting regular attention from San Jose State, Boise State and UNLV. He said he will for sure visit UNLV and Boise State for sure.
"I like talking to Reggie Davis at UNLV," Perez said. "He's a neat guy to talk to."
Perez couldn't remember the Boise State coach that is recruiting him off the top of his head.
