California QB heads to the MAC

Tulare, Calif., two-star quarterback Emmanuel Lewis took an official visit to Ball State this past weekend after the visit he's made up his mind on his college future.
It's a decision that will keep him from officially enrolling until January of next year, but it's also one that ensures him he'll get a shot at playing big-time college football.

"I'm going to Ball State as a gray shirt," Lewis, who is 6-foot-1 and 177 pounds, said.
"I'm pretty pumped about the situation. I can't wait to get down there. They're taking Nate Davis on scholarship in August, and then I go in January. We'll get to go into spring practices next year and battle for the starting spot."
Lewis was also recruited by Nevada, but in the end he wanted to play for the Cardinals in the MAC.
"I liked the program and I like where it's going," he said. "They have a good group of young players and the coaches were also really cool. I also liked the head coach, too."
