California QB Eyes A Big Year

Devin Stearns from Gardena (Calif.) Serra is emerging as one of the most sought after wide receivers on the West Coast. Every star wide receiver has a quarterback who can get him the ball and that Serra signal-caller is Corey Jones.
Jones has the size D-I schools like. He stands 6-foot-4, weighs 190 and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.78.

Jones has great down field vision and moves real well within the pocket. He’s bit raw as a quarterback, but the potential is there. Jones is working very hard on improving his arm strength and on his refining his delivery technique.
“One of Corey’s main strengths is his intelligence,” Serra head coach Scott Altenberg said. “He is very knowledgeable about the game of football. I am expecting a breakout year out of Jones,” Altenberg said.
Jones was selected all-league after throwing for over 1,500 yards, completing 59% of passes and 13 touchdowns. He only had five interceptions all season, unfortunately three came in a playoff loss that ended the season for Serra.
Look for Jones to build on his experience and even have a better year. When you have a Stearns and a William Boyd to throw to, you know you don’t have to do it alone.
Utah, Oregon, ASU, Cal and Washington have all shown interest…
