"Our phone keeps ringing," the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Applewhite said. "But I have committed to San Diego State. I did it last week."
Despite the pledge of his talents to San Diego State, the other schools continue to call.
"Washington State called two days ago and offered me a scholarship," Applewhite said. "Washington, Fresno State, Kansas State and Oregon all are still calling too."
"I am going to be loyal to San Diego State. But I might still take some other trips. I'm working on setting up my date with San Diego State to go there officially."
Applewhite's team is struggling this season holding a 1-5 record through six games. Applewhite has recorded 39 tackles and seven quarterback sacks.
