Jebiaus Brown has started at Cornerback for two years at Milpitas High. An All-DeAnza Division pick last year, he recorded an amazing 63 tackles from that position.
“Most of the teams in our conference mainly run and some run the option so it comes my way out there a lot,” Jebiaus said.
The Trojans finished 8-2 last season and were bounced in the first round of the playoffs by Valley Christian. “We’re coming after them this year,” Brown said.
Milpitas just finished their first week of two-a-days and have two days remaining before the normal fall routine begins. The autumn drills culminate with their first game is August 7th.
Jebiaus currently hears from over 20 colleges across the country including UCLA, Nebraska, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Illinois and Texas. He currently has offers from UCLA, Southern Cal, Illinois and Arizona.
Favorites? “UCLA is my favorite. One of my former teammates goes there. And my grandmother would really like me to go to a U.C. (California) school.”
Brown states that he will probably wait until after the season to make visits so he can concentrate on his senior season. He plans to make official visits to UCLA, Nebraska, Arizona, Illinois and Washington.
He rated these five and commented on each as follows:
UCLA – 10
-“A lot of talent on offense; they are starting to build up in defense to compete for the Rose Bowl or even a National Championship.”
Nebraska – 9
-“Just about everything (stands out). The size of most of their players... The defense is really strong. The offense is really strong. They are always in the national hunt. Why they are not a ‘10’ is that they are so far.”
Arizona – 8
-“The thing that I remember when I was young was that they had a corner I liked. They just became a favorite school to watch.”
Washington – 7 ½
-“I think…Washington…they have a strong offense but they’re losing people so I don’t know. They’re out of California but not too far. They’re a big school and play in front of big crowds. I like to play in front of big crowds.”
Illinois – 6
-“They were the first to offer me. I’d like to see what they have to offer. That was the first coach that I talked to when I was a junior. I’ve never been out of California, so I’d like to check it out.”
At this point, Jebiaus plans on making all five visits before deciding.
