CaliFlorida Bowl MVP announces visits

MIAMI - Many top prospect's grow weary of the recruiting process this late into the game. With one month remaining before signing day most prospects have whittled down their lists to three to five schools and many are already committed. However the old saying "the big dogs walk late," carries weight in the recruiting world as well.
One such big dog , who has yet to announce any kind of decision is Pahokee, Fla., running back Antone Smith, who had offers from virtually every school in America. Smith has refused to talk about the recruiting process with anyone, however, Rivals.com caught up with him briefly after his MVP performance at the CaliFlorida Bowl.

"I'm not going to talk about who I like or who is ahead or anything like that," Smith said. "I'm just not going to do it right now. I am down to five schools Auburn, Georgia, Miami, Florida State and Florida. I'm not going to name a leader or anything like that, but I will say that it's going to be one of those five."
The 5-foot-8, 181-pound Smith is considered one of the nation's fastest players after running a sub 4.4 forty yard dash at the NIKE camp on different occasions. Rivals.com ranks Smith as the nation's No. 1 all-purpose back and the nation's No. 30 player overall.
"I have already taken my official visit to Auburn and that went well," Smith said. "I have a visit set up to Florida on January 21 and Florida State on January 28. There is still a pretty good chance that I am going to take an official visit to Georgia, but I have not decided that for sure. It would probably be on the 14th if I did take that visit."
Smith carried the ball 280 times for 2,814 yards and 44 touchdowns and averaged 11.7 yards per carry as a senior.
