Cali WR is headed to the Northwest

Long Beach Poly (Calif.) always has several players sign on with Div I schools and this year will be no exception. Jackrabbit wide out Kevin Norrell took a visit to Washington State this past weekend and committed on the visit.
Norrell, 5-10, 190 pounds was the leading receiver for the Jackrabbits this past season and was known for coming up with the big catch. He finished the year with a team high 28 catches for 363 yards and four touchdowns

As for his commitment, Norrell gave several reasons for his decision.
"I just loved the people there, everyone was great," Norrell said. "Everyone is so supportive of the football program and it seems like a big family there. I like the guys on the team and they showed me around the campus and the city and we all bonded pretty well.
"I like Coach Wulff and the rest of the staff. They said they're committed to winning and coming from Poly, thats important to me. The campus is nice and I like the size of the city. It's not too big and I'm kind of a small town guy so I know I'll fit in great there.
"Being able to come in with my two boys, Brian Bauam and Tyree Toomer was huge as well. Those are my two best friends and I've known both forever. Tyree and I started off at St. John Bosco together my freshman year and Brian and I have been friends since the 5th grade.
"I'm also excited about how the coaches plan to use me. They like me as a slot guy and feel there is a good chance for early playing time. They said they'll be moving me around a lot, putting me in motion, and lining me up all over the field. I'll also have a chance to return some kickoffs early on as well.
"Like I said, it was just a great fit and even though this was the only visit I took, I'm very solid with my commitment and don't plan to look anywhere else."
