Cali WR close on three trip dates

Much like last year, the wide receiver position is the strength of the West Coast this year. One player who has been flying a bit under the radar screen but is receiving a lot of scholarship interest is West Bakersfield’s (Calif.)Brandon Smith.
Smith, 6-2, 170 pounds really opened up our eyes at the NorCal Nike Camp where he was dominant in the position and one on one drills and also tested well running a 4.56 in the 40, 4.09 in the shuttle, jumped 36 inches in the vertical and did 15 reps on the bench.

“Arizona had offered me before the camp and now I have several others,” Smith said. “Boise State, Washington and Oregon have also offered. All called today along with Kansas State. I don’t have trip dates yet, but I know I’m going to visit Arizona, Washington and Boise State. I talked to all three of them about setting a date and I know they’ll be in December, we set the month and now just need the work on the weekend.
“My top three overall would be San Diego State, Arizona and Washington. I’m not hearing as much from San Diego State but that’s a school that I’ve always liked a lot so hopefully they’ll start to recruit me a little harder. I’m not sure when I’ll be ready to make my decision but I know I want to take at least three of my trips before I commit anywhere.”
