Cali sleeper enjoys first visit

This is always the time where you start to see the sleeper prospects begin to make noise. The reason is fairly basic, as more and more players come off the board by committing, it gives and opportunity for new players to emerge and that is exactly what has happened for Huntington Beach (Calif.) offensive lineman Skyler Fancher.
Fancher, 6-5, 270 pounds should hardly be labeled a sleeper. After all, he's a three year starter, two time all-league selection and has the prototypical size and frame that every college is looking for. He's holding two offers at this time and could be close on No. 3.

" San Diego State and Washington have offered and I just visited San Diego State last weekend," Fancher said. "It was fun a visit and the campus and the city itself was amazing. I got out there Friday, spent some time with the players and met my host who was linebacker Andrew Schantz and he was a good guy.
"Saturday morning, I had to leave to go take the SAT and then I met back up with everyone before the game. The team has struggled a little this year but they're young and you can tell the players have bought in to Coach Long and what he wants to do. The fans were loud and it was a fun game. I think they're building something at San Diego State and that really appeals to me because that's how our program here at Huntington is.
"Sunday I met with the coaches and also took all the tours. Like I said, that's an incredible campus. Everything is so clean and it's just a nice city. The facilities, the practice fields, the weight room, dorms, everything was unbelievable. I've been to USC and UCLA before but this was probably the nicest campus I've ever seen.
"This weekend, I'm going to visit Washington but I still need to talk to them this week to finalize that visit. I'm pretty sure I'm going but it's not 100% yet. I'm also hearing a lot from Boise State too. They actually called tonight (Monday) but I missed their call because I had a home visit with San Diego State. Washington came over last Tuesday. Right now, I just want to take this visit to Washington so I have something to compare it with San Diego State. Then depending on what happens with Boise State, I should be able to make my decision in the next month or so."
