Cali RB is Pac 10 bound

When we last spoke with Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds coach Alonzo Carter regarding his star running back Willie Griffin, he told us he felt his player would likely commit to Washington during his official visit this past weekend and that's exactly what happened.
Griffin, 5-8, 195 pounds took his first official visit this past weekend and it ended up being his last as well.

"I committed earlier today," Griffin said. "I've known Washington was the best fit for me and being on the trip, it became pretty clear. I have a great relationship with the coaching staff and when I looked at the roster and the depth chart, I knew that was where I wanted to be.
"Right when I got to Washington, everything just felt right. Then today, Coach Willingham and I had a nice meeting, just the two of us where he talked about the program and the expectations they have for me. That's when I told him I was ready to commit.
"Coach Willingham was pretty excited and I was too. This process has been a little stressful for me and I'm jut relived it's over. All the phone calls from everyone was really getting to me so it's great that I don't have to deal with any of that any more.
"Right now, I'm not sure if I'll play next year or red-shirt. I'm going to work real hard in the summer and see if I can come in and make an impact but if it works out where I have to red-shirt, that's fine, I'll do whatever the coaches want me to do."
