Cali RB excited about 1st trip

Mission Viejo (Calif.) running back Brian Lockridge will join offensive line teammate Matt Bahr this weekend on a recruiting visit to Colorado. The trip will be the first visit of the year for the standout athlete.
Lockridge, 5-8, 165 pounds is splitting time in the backfield for the Diablos but is still putting up some very good numbers. In eight games, he has rushed for 906 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging close to 10 yards a carry.

"I've done all right but I don't feel like I have had that one real big game yet," Lockridge said. "I'm still kind of waiting for a big breakout game and hopefully it will come in the playoffs."
The running back has excellent speed and athleticism and despite playing soley on the offensive side of the ball, we could see Lockridge playing some defensive back in college.
"Some colleges have mentioned that to me," Lockridge said. "I would definitely prefer running back though. That's the position I've been playing my whole life and where I'm most comfortable."
On the recruiting front, Lockridge is still sitting on offers from Colorado and Boise State and will take an official visit to Boulder this weekend.
"I'm real excited about it," Lockridge said. "Colorado was my first offer and they have been recruiting me hard since the summer. I really like the coaches a lot and I've heard great things about what a nice city Boulder is.
"This is the only visit I have set up so far. I'm still looking at Boise State but Stanford has been showing a lot of interest lately and I'm very interested in them. I haven't started the application process yet but do plan on taking the SAT again on December 2 because they told me they want me to score a little higher. After our season, I plan to take a few more visits before making my decision."
