Cali QB has Pac 10 offers

Although he rarely gets mentioned along with the other top quarterbacks out West, one signal caller we like a lot who is picking up a ton of momentum on the recruiting front is Fresno (Calif.) Clovis West athlete Beau Sweeney. Sweeney has a pair of Pac 10 offers on the table and is hearing from several other schools as well.
Sweeney, 6-1, 180 pounds had a very solid junior season throwing for 1,268 yards and 15 touchdowns and rushing for an additional 564 yards and four more scores. The signal caller earned all-city and all-state underclass honors following the season and shows up very well on film as well.

Sweeney is an athletic quarterback with a real smooth throwing motion. He's very solid mechanically and boast a tight, quick release with very little wasted motion. Clovis West doesn't try and get the ball down the field too much in their offense but Sweeney shows plenty of arm strength on the outs and skinny posts.
On the recruiting front, Sweeney has taken several unofficial visits and has two offers as of now.
"Cal and Arizona State have both offered," Sweeney said. "ASU offered about a week and a half ago and Cal offered me last week.
"I'm also hearing a lot from Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, Washington and Stanford. A few of them have said they're close to offering but just want to see more in person. They mentioned not being able to see me make all the throws on my film so they'll be at the Elite 11 at Cal and NIKE Camp at Stanford in a few weeks and will be watching me there.
"Over Spring break, I took unofficial visits to all those schools except Nebraska. I visited six schools in nine day and really enjoyed being able to see the campuses and meet the coaching staffs.
"ASU really stood out to me. It's a great school with great facilities and I got along well with all the coaches. Oregon State was nice too. I connected really well with Coach Riley and Coach Langsdorf, the offensive coordinator there.
"Cal was a great visit too. The only drawback was I didn't get to see the campus but I met the coaches and really liked everyone there. That was the last of my visits so I was pretty tired but I still enjoyed it.
"I don't have a leader right now but ASU and Cal are my top two. I'm still open to all the schools recruiting me though and don't plan to really narrow my list until the summer. By the end of the summer is when I want to make my decision. I just want to be able to focus on football and my senior year when school starts so I definitely want to be committed by the end of the summer if possible."
