Cali pass rusher staying in state

Fresno State landed their biggest commitment of the year so far when talented linebacker Chris Carter announced for the Bulldogs Thursday night.
Carter, 6-2, 210 pounds from Fontana (Calif.) Kaiser is one of the elite pass rushers in the West region and could play linebacker or rush end in college. He earned all-state honors as a junior and will get serious mention once again this year.

“I committed last night,” Carter said. “Fresno State has been with me from the beginning and I’m really excited about my decision. They were one of the first schools to offer me and I really like everything about the program.
“They have an attacking, aggressive defense that I think I’ll fit well in. Fresno is close to home so my friends and family can come up and see me. I had a great relationship with all the coaches there and my boy Lonyae Miller is up there already and we’re best friends so it will be cool to play with him again.
“I had a great visit to Fresno State as well, it was the best visit I took. I took an unofficial visit there back in August so I was already pretty familiar with the school and campus. My parents went with me on the trip and they liked it a lot too. I had some January trips set up but I’m done taking visits, I’m a solid commit to Fresno State.”
In addition to visiting Fresno State, Miller also checked out Colorado State and Idaho and was planning to visit Oregon State and possibly Washington later this month. The athlete had a big senior season totaling 18 sacks after racking up 11 as a junior.
