Cali OL nears first offer

Offensive tackle Bill Wacholz (6-6, 290, 5.1) from San Diego (Calif.) Rancho Bernardo has worked himself into a D-I prospect. It was only a year that Wacholz ran the 40 in 5.6 and now he sports an electronic 5.1 time. What does that tell you about his work ethic?
Wacholz has improved his bench from 365 to 385 and his squat from 500 to 525 over the last few months. He also benched 185 pounds, 24 times at the Nike Camp held at Stanford. He has the work ethic that separates the good from the great.

Though Wacholz doesn’t have any offers just yet, it seems that Arizona is about to be the first. Wacholz is already planning to take in some Arizona games when the season starts.
“I get two to three letters a week from Arizona usually hand written,” Wacholz said. “They’ve invited me to their first three home games which I will be attending with my father.”
Besides Arizona, Wacholz is also getting solid recruiting looks from Oregon State, Washington State, Arizona State and San Diego State.
The Wildcats have the edge for Wacholz services.
Wacholz is a player who is hungry and knows what it is at stake his senior season.
If an opponent thinks they’re going to be able to cheap shot Wacholz this season, you better think again. Wacholz is a second-degree black belt in the tae kwon do discipline in karate.
Another that Wacholz has going for him is he’s a left-hander making him a natural left tackle on the offensive line. The position, incidentally that he plays.
Wacholz is academically qualified.
