Cali OL lands first offer

San Jacinto (Calif.) offensive lineman Ryan Dannewitz has been one of the state's top linemen since his sophomore year. Dannewitz recently picked up the first of what we feel will be several scholarship offers in the early recruiting process.
Dannewitz, 6-6, 260 pounds is a talented tackle prospect who could also play guard at the next level. He had a strong showing at the NIKE Camp in Los Angeles last spring earning NIKE camp Underclass All-American honors.

This past season, the lineman again shined on the field earning all-area and 2nd team all-state underclass honors.
"Ryan is without a doubt the best prospect we have ever had here," San Jacinto coach Bill Powell said. "He has started every game for us since his arrival and has unlimited potential. He has the frame to easily get up to 290-300 pounds by the time he graduates and is also the starting center on the basketball team."
Dannewitz will be recruited by just about every program out West and picked up his first offer this past week.
"Oregon just offered yesterday," Powell said. "Ryan will be attending UCLA's Junior Day this weekend and an offer could be pending there as well. Right now, Ryan is looking hard at Oregon, Colorado, UCLA, USC and Fresno State and that's in no order.
"Just based on some of our conversations, I think Ryan would like to make an early decision. I think he would like to have the process done before we start camp in August so we'll just see how things go."
