Cali OL has Midwest leader

One of the top offensive lineman in the West region next fall will be Spring Valley (Calif.) Cathedral's Everett Benyard. The big lineman has a pair of early local offers but favors a pair of Midwest programs.
Benyard, 6-7, 320 pound earned 1st team all-league and 2nd team all-CIF honors a year ago. Cathedral won a CIF title this past season led by a dominating running game and Benyard was a big reason for that.

Benyard played on both sides of the ball last season but projects best on the offensive line. He played right tackle last season and that is his best college position as well. The lineman has great size and with improved athleticism, has a chance to be a very solid college athlete.
On the recruiting front, Benyard has a pair of offers, both from the MWC.
"Utah and San Diego State have offered," Benyard said. "I'm also hearing from Oregon State, Arizona, Notre Dame, UCLA, UNLV, Oregon and Michigan. I've always been a big Michigan fan. They have been my favorite school since I was a kid and they're still my No. 1 right now.
"I also like Notre Dame, UCLA, USC and San Diego State, that would be my current top five. This summer, I going to camp with San Diego State and maybe Notre Dame as well. I'll also be attending the NIKE Camp at USC in April. I'm looking for a school with a great football program as well as the best academic fit for me."
