Cali OL focusing on the season

Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame offensive lineman Sam Demartinis was very impressive in the Knights week one upset win over Canyon (Calif.) who entered the game ranked No. 2 in the state. Recruiting wise, the lineman is mainly focusing on his football season and has yet to schedule any of his visits.
Demartinis, 6-6, 265 pounds is one of the elite lineman in the West region this year. We saw him play twice as a junior and the big lineman looks quicker and more explosive this year. He moves very well, has long arms and competed hard against one of the more physical defenses in the state.

"That was a huge win for us," Demartinis said. "We're not used to being the underdog in games but going in to that one, we knew about Canyon's ranking and how good they are. It was a tough game, we scored late to win it but I really like our team a lot and feel we have a chance for a special season."
Demartinis took several unofficial visits this past spring and summer and has already checked out all of his favorites.
"My top three are probably Cal, Arizona State and Arizona and I saw each of them in the summer," Demartinis said. "ASU stood out because I got to watch them scrimmage and I like their coaches a lot. Plus they don't have a lot of lineman in their depth chart. Cal was great too and I like their academics and Arizona has a nice campus.
"My brother Tony is at San Diego State and I'm still looking at them as well. I'll probably take official visits to all those schools but I want to wait until after our season is over and hopefully that won't be until early December. Once I take my visits, I should be ready to make my decision sometime in mid January or so."
