Cali LB pulls the trigger

After picking up a scholarship offer from UCLA late last week, Newhall (Calif.) Hart linebacker Patrick Larimore said he was very excited about it and there was a chance he could jump on it in a few days. That's just what happened as Larimore informed us he committed to the Bruins.
Larimore, 6-2, 230 pounds had his coming out party at the SoCal NIKE Camp a few weeks ago where he showed he's one of the elite 'backers in the region. He came in to the event with offers from San Diego State and Duke and picked up offers from UCLA and Utah shortly after the camp.

Larimore told us he was going to talk to his parents about making an early commitment and then visited the UCLA campus last Friday for a tour and talked with the coaches and also took in the spring game.
"I'm a Bruin," Larimore said. "It's really where I always wanted to go. I love everything about the school and was so pumped up when I landed the offer.
"I grew up a fan of UCLA so this is huge for me to be able to play there in college. I really like the coaches, the defense they have and I just think it's a great overall fit for me. Academically, they're a great school as well and being close to home is another added bonus. I'm just excited right now to be a Bruin, I really am."
Larimore is a true inside 'backer and a very good college prospect. He runs well, has a great feel for the game and really delivers a blow on impact. In fact, Larimore is arguably the hardest hitting linebacker we've seen out West this year.
