Cali LB pulls the trigger

One of the more under-rated players we saw in the state thsi year was Carpinteria (Calif.) linebacker Eric Stein. The talented athlete visited Navy this weekend and committed on the trip.
Stein, 6-0, 200 pounds had a big season earning all-league and all-county honors. He caught 38 balls for 662 yards and four touchdowns to go with 118 tackles and nine sacks.

"While on my visit this past weekend, I just knew this was where I wanted to spend the next four years of my life," Stein said. "They have a very strong program, the coaches are great and the facilities are the best I've seen.
"Another factor for me is the quality of the education I'll be getting and the opportunities that come with a degree from the Naval Academy. Spending time with the current players on the team also helped me to decide and I'm very excited and solid with my decision."
Stein committed to Navy over offers from Princeton, UC Davis and Arizona. He also visited Princeton earlier in the month.
