Cali K lands first offer

It seems Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame always boast one of the top kickers in the state and this year is no exception. The Knights latest find is Erik Folk who recently picked up his first scholarship offer.
Folk, 5-10, 185 pounds, is the younger brother of Arizona kicker Nick Folk. The younger Folk played behind UCLA freshman Kai Forbath a year ago but is having a big senior season and is now drawing heavy Div I attention.

Folk has kicked three field goals of 50+ yards this year with a long of 56 yards and has sent the majority of his kickoffs in to the end zone for touchbacks.
"Erik is definitely one of the top kickers in the nation," national kicking coach Chris Sailer said. "He has a great leg and gets the ball up fast. There is no doubt he has endless potential."
On the recruiting front, Folk took an unofficial visit to Washington two weeks ago when the Huskies took on Arizona State and walked away with his first scholarship offer.
"I really liked Washington a lot," Folk said. "I spent the weekend up there and they offered me while I was there. I was there for the game but also walked around the campus and liked everything there. Washington has a good program and is also a strong school academically so there is a lot of pluses there.
"Oregon is recruiting me as well and hinting about an offer but I haven't seen anything yet. I just got a call tonight from Nebraska too but I like Washington a lot and I've thought about committing there.
"I talked to my brother and he told me I should take one more look at the school to make sure I'm not making an emotional decision after seeing the school just one time. So that's what I'm probably going to do, I'll set up another visit there but I haven't worked out any dates yet."
