Cali DT has local leader

Lawndale (Calif.) Leuzinger defensive lineman Otis Jones is one of the state's top defensive tackle prospects. He recently picked up offer No. 3 and is hoping a few more come his way once his senior film gets out.
Jones, 6-1, 270 pounds was one of the sleepers to emerge at the SoCal NIKE Camp last April. He backed it up with a very good senior season and is now hoping it pays off with a few more offers.

"Nevada was the last school to offer me," Jones said. "Iowa State and Colorado are my other offers. I visited Iowa State already and it was pretty cool.
"I like the players a lot and I was treated very well. It was a little bit of a culture shock because the place is a lot different than Southern CA obviously but I still liked it and they're very high on my list.
"Right now, my top school would have to be UCLA. I've liked them for awhile now and I really think I can play there. I just sent them my senior film so hopefully after they see it, they'll think enough of me to offer. It's close to home and I think they could use some defensive tackles as well.
"The other schools that I like that are also showing interest in me are Fresno State, Washington, Oregon and Arizona. I'm taking the SAT December 1 and then I'm going to start to set up a few more visits.
"I want to visit Colorado and Arizona for sure and then maybe take one more trip after that before I make my decision. I think just taking three to four visits will be enough for me."
