Cali DL leaves the state

West Covina (Calif.) South Hills defensive lineman Kebin Umodu took an official visit to the Air Force Academy this past weekend. The lineman had earlier visited UTEP but enjoyed his time in Colorado so much, he committed on the visit.
Umodu, 6-2, 240 pounds is a talented lineman who could play inside or outside at the college level. He's a three year starter and hasn't come close to reaching his full potential.

"He loved it at Air Force and committed on Saturday," South Hills recruiting director James Escarcega said. "I didn't know this until recently but the Nigerian community really values the education that the academies provide so when Air Force offered Kebin, everyone was going crazy.
"Air Force really recruited the heck out of Kebin too. They were calling him and visiting him at the school as much as possible and really made him a high priority recruit. I had a feeling if things went well on the visit, he would end up committing there and that's what he did.
"I think Kebin has a huge upside to him. He has the frame to easily pack on weight and he's still growing. I can see him at 6-4, 290 pounds in a couple of years with the athletic ability to play on the edge if needed. He had a great year for us and earned League Def. Player of the Year and 1st team all CIF as well.
"Plus he's still only 16 years old so like I said, he's still maturing physically and has a lot of room to get bigger, stronger and faster."
