Cali DL is one of the regions best

San Marcos (Calif.) Mission Hills defensive lineman Edward Nuckols is one of the top tackle prospects in the West region for the class of 2009. Nuckols has a pair of offers on the table and had a solid showing at the recent NIKE Combine in Long Beach a few weeks ago.
Nuckols, 6-4, 295 pounds is an elite prospect and will be recruited at the national level. As a junior, the tackle totaled 34 tackles, including six for loss to earn all-league, all-county and 2nd team all-state underclass honors.

By all accounts, Nuckols outperformed highly touted and former teammate Jamaar Jarrett all season long and has the size and athleticism needed to play early in college.
"He was our best lineman last year," Mission coach Chris Hauser said. "He's a great run stopper and took on double teams on every play. He's a high motor kid and really performed well for us. He was all-state as a sophomore and he has continued to get better every year."
At the NIKE Combine earlier this month, Nuckols clocked a 5.44-40, 4.75 shuttle time, jumped 25 inches and threw the power ball 37'09" for a very solid 76.71 SPARQ Rating. Recruiting wise, Nuckols has a pair of offers and gave us his top five schools.
"Colorado was my first offer and Arizona has offered as well," Nuckols said. "I'm also hearing a lot from USC, Ohio State, Arizona, Oregon and Colorado. USC is my top school right now followed by Ohio State, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Miami.
"Growing up, I always liked Virginia Tech a lot and that's why they're still on my list. I took an unofficial visit to USC with my family and really liked it a lot. They're good guys with a lot of energy. I'm planning to camp with them this summer and I'll also be at the NIKE Camp at USC in April."
