Cali DB lands Pac 10 offer

One of the top defensive backs we saw at the recent NIKE Camp at USC a few weeks ago was Lynwood's (Calif.) Vachel Samuels. The talented corner has one offer on the table and likely more to follow.
Samuels, 5-11.5, 165 pounds has good size for a corner and was impressive at the NIKE Camp a few weeks back. It looks like this will be a deep year for corners in-state and Samuels deserves to have his name mentioned among the best in the region.

"This is a hungry football player," NIKE lead DB coach Michael Fletcher said. "You can tell he really wants to compete and get better and is a natural leader on the field. He was solid all day and then really took it up a notch during the one on ones and shined. He's a competitive player and I really like the kid a lot."
Samuels had 52 tackles and four pciks last season while rushing for 490 yards and five touchdowns. He projects as a lock down corner in college and has the kind of size and speed that translates well to college.
"I'm hearing from most of the Pac 10 and Arizona State has offered me," Samuels said. "ASU is my top school followed by UCLA and USC, that's my top three right now.
"I'm not close to making a decision though. I want to take my time and see who else decides to offer. Once I have all my options, I'll take some visits and then make my decision."
