Cali DB lands NW offer

Gardena (Calif.) Serra has a strong group of players coming up in the next few classes. One player getting a lot of interest is defensive back Anthony Carpenter.
Carpenter, 6-1, 180 pounds is a talented defensive back prospecte with the size and speed to play just about anywhere in the secondary. He earned all-league honors last season after totaling 74 tackles and one interception.

The athlete runs well and with his size, projects as a very solid cover corner at the next level. He also played some running back last season rushing for 256 yards and three touchdowns while averaging over 10 yards per carry.
On the recruiting front, Carpenter has one offer on the table out of the Pac 10.
"Washington State has offered," Carpenter said. "I'm also hearing from Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah State, Wyoming and Oregon.
"I like Washington State a lot since they have offered. Oregon State, USC, Oregon and UCLA would be the rest of my top five. I grew up a USC fan and had an uncle who went there but I'm not hearing from them right now.
"I'm going to camp with Oregon State this summer and will also attend the NIKE Camp at USC this Sunday. I'm looking for a school that is strong academically and also has a strong football program."
Carpenter is carrying a 3.1 GPA and scored a 1406 on the SAT. He plans to major in Sports Medicine.
