School: Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne

Position: Free Safety/Quarterback
Size and Speed: Brown is 6-foot-2 and weighs 180 pounds. He has been timed in the 40 at 4.5. He benches 240, squats 315 and has recorded a 31” vertical jump. Brown carries a 3.0 GPA.
Honors: Brown was selected all-league as a junior.
Statistics: Brown collected 80 tackles, six sacks five picks, four caused fumbles and two fumble recoveries. He would have had more but he missed two games due a broken nose.
Favorite Colleges: Brown already has a written offer from San Diego State and a verbal offer from San Jose State. He is getting correspondence from UCLA, ASU, CSU, Kansas State and Washington.
Skinny: Brown has all the tools to be a big time defensive back on the next level. He’s very fundamentally sound and about as sure a tackler as you will see. Brown can sneak up to the line of scrimmage and put heat on the quarterback. He is the complete safety prospect.
Brown is very tough and aggressive. When Brown arrives on the scene, he brings a bang. He is very rangy and always seems to have a beat on the ball. Brown has the speed and coverage skills of a defensive back, but brings the hammer like a linebacker.
“Jeff really finishes off a tackle,” Narbonne running back and recruiting coordinator Craig Armstrong said. “He actually speeds up the last two steps and runs through you.”
“Jeff only has one speed and its fast,” Armstrong said.
Brown is a tremendous all-around athlete who could end up playing quarterback for Narbonne next season.
Narbonne has done an excellent job developing D-I talent over the past few years and with Brown it looks like Narbonne will be sending another one of their player’s to the D-I level.
