Cali DB checks out the Tar Heels

A trio of players from Long Beach Poly (Calif.) took official visits this past weekend. Jurrell Casey and Vaughn Telemaque tripped to Oregon and defensive back Herman Davidson visited North Carolina.
Davidson, 6-3, 215 pounds originally had his visit set to North Carolina for the weekend of January 11. After watching more film on Davidson, the Tar Heels recently offered the hard hitting safety and moved up his visit to this past weekend.

"I loved it there, I had a great trip," Davidson said. "Just the whole atmosphere there was really nice. I really liked meeting the coaches and the players, even the students that I met were great.
"My player host was Trimane Goddard and he was real cool. After the game Saturday, he took me out and showed me around the area and Franklin St. That place is crazy.
"UNC is far from home but that won't play a role at all. The longer I stayed there, the more I forgot I was gone, it was one of those type of things. At the end of the trip, I talked with the coaches but they never pushed me to commit or anything.
"They told me they didn't want to rush me and said they would be staying in touch. During the visit, I did think about making a decision but I knew I wanted to talk things over with my parents first and they said they wanted me to do that as well. So I never felt rushed or anything, I just really enjoyed everything there and I'm looking forward to going through the rest of the recruiting process."
