Cali corner sees stock soar through the roof

There aren't many players hotter on the recruiting front right now than Lynwood (Calif.) defensive back Vachel Samuels. The talented corner has offers from just about every school in the Pac 10 and said he has three schools in mind for possible visits.
Samuels, 6-0, 170 pounds was one of the elite corners we saw at the SoCal NIKE Camp back in April.

"He's a natural leader and really shined in the one on ones," NIKE DB coach Michael Fletcher said. "He's a very competitive kid with a great work ethic and is a great athlete as well. He has all the tools to be an impact player in college."
Arizona State was the first to offer Samuels and since then, everyone has jumped on the bandwagon.
"I now have offers from Cal, Arizona, Oregon, Washington State, Oregon State, Boise State, Fresno State, Stanford and Nebraska," Samuels said. "I've been in contact with USC and UCLA and both of those schools are recruiting me very hard as well.
"I plan to attend one day camps at USC and UCLA this summer but I'm not going to be taking any unofficial visits. I'm going to wait and take my official visits after the season has started.
"Right now, I haven't decided where I want to go, I'm still weighing my options. I do want to visit Oregon, Cal and ASU and I'm keeping my options open on my last couple of visits to see what else rolls in.
"This whole experience has been great so far. It's so exciting to have these schools notice my talent because I've been working so hard for so long. To finally get all this recognition just feels great."
